How do we integrate international students within our multilingual Upper Secondary School?
To join our Upper Secondary School, international students must have a sufficient command of the French or English language. They will consolidate their knowledge in these languages. However, brilliant and motivated students who are beginners in these languages have the possibility to access the 2nde class (G10/Y11). Ombrosa can offer:
- An intensive international 2nde class offering anglophone teachings. This one-year course prepares students to attain a complete diploma based on the IGCSE (five to eight subjects) with classes of French as a Foreign Language and strengthening classes for English. This course leads to the preparation of the bilingual International Baccalaureate.
- An international 2nde class that co-ordinates francophone and anglophone teachings, and is the follow-up of the international 3è class (G9/Y10). Students finish the preparation of IGCSE exams they initiated earlier in their course and head towards the preparation of the bilingual International Baccalaureate.
- A francophone 2nde class that comes with strengthening classes of French as a Foreign Language, English and the validation of some IGCSE certificates. Depending on students’ results, this course may either lead to the French General Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate.
An entrance in Première class (G11/Y12) is also possible to prepare the French General Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate, but remains contingent upon the command of the French and/or English language. International students have the possibility to select their mother tongue respectively in LVA (GB) or in self-learning (Group 1 in IB).
