Hispanic Day

On Tuesday, October 12, Ombrosa celebrated the Hispanic Day, as it has become a tradition. Students of 4° (G8/Y9), 3° (G9/Y10) and 2nde (G10/Y11) made us dream with the country of one of our teachers, Mrs Caron, who was our guest of honor.

At 1.00 pm, we have shared with the whole Ombrosa community the diversity of this country: nature, regions, flora, fauna, food, celebrations more or less famous such as the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Veracruz carnical…

We also discovered famous people from all fields: literature, arts, sports, music, and of course cinema. Cities also have an important place within the culture: Ciudad de México, Oaxaca, Querétaro, Morelia…

To finish with, the students of 2nde gave us a more historical approach:mayas, aztecas, Spanish Conquest, independance, the Mexican revolution and Mexico nowadays.

Everyone had the possibility to take part in quizzes on the culture of this incredible and amazing country, and to ask questions to Mrs Caron who gave us even more information along with a more personal approach.

A huge thank to all who participated, and we will see you next year with… Colombia!
