Cultural outing for students of the FLE Workshop

On September 14th, as part of the educational project aiming at a linguistical and cultural immersion, international students newly established in France could use their language skills through a guided tour organized by the tourrist office. They visited the Fourvière hill, from the balisica to the panoramic view over the city and the Saint-Jean cathetral in the Old-Town.

Here is a quick sum-up of this sunny afternoon: they took the bus and the cable-car to reach the top of Fourvière hill, had a picnic on the basilica’s forecourt. Then we met our guide at the tourrist office of Lyon, admired the beautiful view over the city, went into the basilica to admire the mosaic while listening to the explanations given by our guide. For example, we learned that the hill was named “the forum hill”. Then we went up the stairs of the Gallo-Roman Theatre where concerts are still being organized! We also discovered the rose garden (without any flowers at this time of year), went back down to the Old Town, visited the biggest house in the neighborhood that has been turned into the Gadagne Museum, international museum of puppets. We went through some obscure traboules, ran into the Saint-Jean cathedral and got excited when we saw its astronomical clock with its small automatons moving at 4.00 p.m. Finally, we went back to our bus to go to school.
