IGCSE Drama Educational Trip to London
For four days in October 2014 Miss Ellie, the Drama teacher, took the 2nde IGCSE Drama class and some of the 2nde International students to London to attend a Commedia dell’arte workshop with the National Theatre and a Shakespeare workshop with The Globe Theatre. The experience was an enriching one and gave the students an opportunity to work with professionals working in this field and discover how fun and interesting Shakespeare can be!
The students also attended two very different award winning productions: ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime’, originally a mystery novel by British writer Mark Haddon and ‘Matilda’ the musical, adapted from Roald Dahl’s children’s novel.
In addition, they were taken on a tour of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where they were able to have a close inspection of a Performing Arts University.
These are some of the words the students used to describe the trip: “Exciting, Educational, Motivating and Inspiring”.
