The MUN club, meaning Model United Nations, is a club in which a United Nations conference is simulated with students each being assigned delegations representing a country. Each delegation must research and represent their countries’ views on the topic at hand. The subjects allow for delegations to get creative in how they respond by, sometimes, having to look for solutions on an issue that their delegation doesn’t truly believe in or needing to ignore their own opinions in favour of their delegation’s. Right now, the issue we are debating on is “How can we limit the impact of fast fashion?”, where all delegations try to agree upon methods to limit the environmental impact that the proliferation and existence of fast fashion can have on the world. Each year, a few conferences involving students from other schools and other towns are organized to allow for those signed up to MUN to apply the skills that they learned throughout their time in the club.
